New Congregational Care Ministry begins on Sunday, 7/1 with a commissioning ceremony for our Leaders during our morning worship services. This new ministry will take our Family Ministry to a new level as each Congregational Care Leader will care for a small number of persons/families in our church to ensure that everyone senses care and concern from the church. Congregational Care Leaders will act as representatives of the church and the Pastor(s) office to be sure that you are connected to and are cared for by your church family. Anyone having questions about this new ministry is invited to call Pastor Pam at the church office 276-728-2434.
Baptism Service is being planned for Sunday, 7/1 at Noon. The service will be outside at FUMC Hillsville on Fulcher St with a picnic following. The church is supplying hamburgers, hot dogs, fixin’s, and ice cream. Please bring a side dish to share, or drinks. Everyone is invited! A Call to Fast – Pastor Ronnie is calling everyone at Out Of The Box Worship Center to fast in 2012. Please pray about this and if you would like to commit to fasting in 2012, email Pastor Ronnie at ronnie24317@yahoo.com. There is also a calendar in the lobby at the worship center where you can indicate the dates you are fasting.
Community Outreach/Free Car Wash – Sat 6/30, 10am – 2pm at Advance Auto in Hillsville.

Step Out/Help Out Ministry will be helping out at Hope House on 7/7 at 9am. They will be painting and organizing household items, sealing the basement and other odd jobs such as these. If you would like to volunteer to help, contact Brenda Harmon at backharmon4@yahoo.com.
Adventure on Promise Island – Tuesday’s from 6pm – 8pm. This is a great summer program for kids where we will explore God’s promises and His amazing love for us. We will have supper, Bible Stories, music, crafts and fun games! Bring your friends and join us! Vacation Bible School will be 6-8pm on July 8-12 at the Fulcher Street location. We are in need of volunteers to be teachers and assistants as well as people willing to donate food and drinks for snacks. Monday Morning Bible Study Breakfast – 7/16 from 9:30 – 11am at FUMC Hillsville. The Monday Morning Bible Study group is taking a break for the summer, but, will resume on Monday morning, 8/13 at 9:30am with a new study, “The Miracle of Life Change” by Chip Ingram. This is a 10 week informal study group composed of men and women that meets weekly at Out Of The Box Youth Center.

Relay for Life – Friday & Sat 7/27 & 7/28. American Cancer Society’s Relay for LIfe… Will take place Friday & Sat. July 27th & 28th. If you would like to honor someone you know that is suffering with cancer or remember someone you have lost to cancer and would like to purchase a Luminary please contact Cindy Brown at browniebitesofwoodlawn@gmail.com or call 276-733-6228. We have the following Luminaries available … White ($5) Gold ($25) and this year we also have Tiki Torch for ($35). ALL Luminary requests must be in NO LATER THAN July 21st 2012. We will also have a Soap and Suds Fun Fest THIS SATURDAY June 30th from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at the Fulcher Street Location. WE will have a car wash, dog wash and balloon toss. Along with face painting, raffles and food. Please come out and support our team. All donations will go to support the Relay for Life Team.
Bethel Congregational Care Class – will be taught by Carolyn Webb and will begin on September 6th. We will not be offering a Bethel Disciples Class with Christine Eva. For more information on the Congregational Care Class please contact Carolyn Webb at 728-4883.
R.A.M.P. – This is a Ministry for young girls about Respect, Attitude, Modesty and Purity and will involve an event on Saturday, 9/15/12 at FUMC Hillsville. Event planners are working on ideas for this event and recruiting volunteers. Also needed are donations of money, desserts and door prizes. Volunteersare needed to teach Sunday School at Wheatland. Contact Ester Taylor 728-5411 or Tilda Mullins 733-6763 if you would like to help by teaching 1 Sunday each quarter. What a difference you would be making in the lives of some precious older adults, some of whom are FUMC members.
